“Red Rain”, a cinematic work by director and Meritorious Artist Dang Thai Huyen, emerged as the biggest winner at the 2025 Blue Star Awards, securing six golden trophies across key categories for both individuals and the production team.

The awards ceremony, held on the evening of January 10, honored Red Rain in several prominent categories: Best Creative Achievement in Film for Vu Viet Hung, Best Supporting Actor for Phuong Nam (as Ta), Most Popular Actor in Cinema for Steven Nguyen, and Most Popular On-screen Couple for Steven Nguyen and Le Ha Anh.

The film also took home the two most prestigious awards of the evening. Director Dang Thai Huyen was named Best Director, while Red Rain won Best Feature Film, as chosen by the professional jury.

On stage, Dang Thai Huyen became emotional as she expressed gratitude to her team and comrades at the People's Army Cinema.

“If not for the unwavering support of the entire crew, I would not have been able to endure 81 days and nights in Quang Tri to complete this film. I am deeply thankful,” she said.

According to the team behind Red Rain, the film was a monumental effort involving thousands of people over an extended production period. The awards are both recognition and motivation for everyone involved. They expressed their hope to continue creating works of artistic and social significance, honoring the legacy of national heroes.

At the close of the event, the production team, cast, and director gathered on stage to pass the golden trophies hand to hand, celebrating their shared pride in this cinematic milestone.

Red Rain’s sweeping victory came as little surprise. Released in August 2025, the film grossed a record-breaking 714 billion VND (approximately 29 million USD) at the box office and received praise from both audiences and critics. It has already made a clean sweep at multiple film festivals, including the most recent Vietnam Film Festival.

Other notable moments from the Blue Star Awards 2025 included:

·        Thanh Son won Best Actor for Airborne Battle, and Viet Huong was named Best Actress for her role in The Sister-in-Law.

·        Steven Nguyen and Le Ha Anh were crowned Most Popular On-screen Couple for their performances in Red Rain, reenacting a romantic scene during their acceptance.

·        Phuong Nam continued a strong year, winning Best Supporting Actor for his role in Red Rain.

·        Chiều Xuan and director Trinh Lam Tung received Best Animated Film for Little Quynh: The Legend of Kim Nguu.

·        Steven Nguyen and beauty queen Doan Thien An won Most Popular Actor and Actress in Film, thanks to their large fan bases.

In the television category, Unfortunate Heart directed by NSND Trong Trinh was named Best TV Series. Truong Minh Quoc Thai and Oanh Kieu took home Best Actor and Actress awards, with Le Ha Anh also winning both Best Supporting Actress and Most Popular Actress in TV.

In the web content category, Demon’s Diner, directed by Ham Tran, won Best Web Series. Le Quoc Nam and Le Phuong were named Best Actor and Actress, while Duy Khanh and Lam Vy Da took home the fan-voted Most Popular titles.

In music, singer Hoa Minzy celebrated her 12th career anniversary by winning Best Music Video (jury pick) for Bắc Bling. Rising artist Rhyder won the fan-voted category for Tiếc cho em.
