Popular French photographer Rehahn will put on a photo exhibition featuring Vietnamese women in the World Heritage-listed city of Hoi An in Quang Nam Province from July 20 to August 20.

Rehahn will unveil 40 artworks about Vietnamese women across the country to give viewers an opportunity to look at local women who are good at taking care of their families and handling their daily household chores.

According to Rehahn, who has been living in the ancient town of Hoi An for five years, this is a good chance to honor the simple beauty and great contributions of Vietnamese women in modern life.

“I’m very impressed by the strength of the Vietnamese women. They work hard every day, everywhere in the country. I want to celebrate this feature of Vietnam with these photos taken from North to South of the country,” he told the Daily.

The event, co-hosted by the culture and information department of Hoi An City, takes place during the Vu Lan Festival, a special time for local people to express their gratitude to their parents.
