Travel companies are busy with rising demand for religious tours during springtime.
Visitors at Huong Pagoda
"Going to the pagodas in the new year is very important and it's a chance to explore yourself, for peace and pray for your family. I and my friends often go to pagodas in Hanoi, Quang Ninh, Ninh Binh and Lao Cao. This year, we are planning to go to Con Dao Island," said Nguyen Thi Cuc in Hanoi.
Tran Thi Thanh, another resident in Hanoi, also wanted to go to pagodas in Thanh Hoa while the family of Nguyen Thi Huong has participated in religious tours for years.
"My friends and I want to go to sacred places in Nepal and India this time," Huong said.
Travel agencies have quickly rolled out tours that include famous places such as Huong Pagoda, Tran Temple, or Hoang Bay Temple in Sapa. Vietrantour has offered Hanoi-Can Tho-Con Dao that will visit Tam Chuc Pagoda in Ha Nam Province.
Not only are there demands to local spring festivals, but there are also many orders for outbound tours.
Phi Thi Thu Khuyen, vice head of the Marketing - Communications Department at Vietrantour said, "Some of the most popular tours cost from VND12m (USD517) to VND33m. Our customers will have opportunities to visit Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and Museum in Singapore or Fo Guang Shan Buddha Museum in Taiwan."
She went on to say that the Hanoi-Can Tho-Con Dao tour costs VND7.55m (USD323) per person, including a two-way ticket.
According to Vietravel, Vietsense, Hanoi Redtours and other agencies, the majority of their customers prefer going to Singapore, Myanmar, Taiwan, Nepal and India. The number of customers is estimated to increase by 20% compared to the same period last year.
