He was highly regarded by Vietnamese readers for his profound thoughts on philosophy, culture, and literature.
Venerable Thich Hai An, Director of the Vietnam Buddhist Academy in Hue City, highlighted Professor Thuan’s deep connection to his homeland. He frequently lectured at the academy and participated in cultural events organized by the Vietnamese Buddhist Sangha’s Central Cultural Committee. The Tu Dam Pagoda will establish a memorial, and the Vietnam Buddhist Academy in Hue will also hold a commemorative ceremony for Professor Cao Huy Thuan.
The timing of the memorial service will be determined by his family, with further announcements from the academy to follow.
In 2017, Professor Cao Huy Thuan received the 10th Phan Chau Trinh Cultural Award, honoring his significant contributions to Vietnamese culture and education. This award encompasses four fields: culture and education, translation, research, and Vietnam studies.
