VFF representatives made the commitment during a working session in Hanoi on June 5 with “Football for All” Director Anders Krystad.

The project, jointly initiated by the Vietnam Football Association and the Football Association of Norway in 1997, was launched in 2000.

It started in Hanoi in 2001 before moving to Thua Thien-Hue Province in 2003.

So far 147 football clubs have been established, involving more than 16,000 young football players.

The VFF and FFAV Director assessed their model’s advantages, citing examples from its Thua Thien-Hue operations, and recommended replicating the model across the country.

VFF leaders believe legality and efficiency demand official cooperation agreements between the national sporting body and their Norwegian equivalent.

FFAV Director Krystad hopes to see the programme’s model a great success at schools.

Krystad also committed to hosting FFAV training courses for coaches, referees, and football club management.

The 2013 iteration of the national tournament will be held in Hue City from June 8–11 with the participation of 320 football teams (including 202 U12 teams, 103 U15 teams U15, and 15 handicap teams representing social support centres).

The Football for All Ages Cup also incorporates life skill games and art exchanges.
