VietNamNet Bridge – A reporter of the Voice of Vietnam’s (VOV) online newspaper has been suspended from press operations indefinitely and has been arranged another job for reporting false information.

According to reporter Chu Trinh, the General Hospital of Tien Giang province recently received a very special case: "a man and his daughter-in-law stick together."

In his report, Mr. A, 58, and his daughter-in-law, 36, had an affair while his son was absent. The woman suffered from vaginal spasms while having sexual relations with her father-in-law so they were stuck together. Both were brought to the Tien Giang General Hospital for emergency aid…”

This false article was posted on VOV online newspaper on September 18. It was then re-published on many other websites and became a very hot topic.

On September 20, after verification of this story revealed that it was not true, VOV online newspaper removed the story and posted corrections according to the provisions of the Press Law.

The General Director of VOV on October 3 signed a decision to punish reporter Nguyen Chu Trinh, who works at the VOV Office in the Mekong Delta.

Accordingly, Trinh is suspended from press operations indefinitely and has been arranged another job for reporting false information and not complying with the news production process.

The same day, the VOV General Director signed another decision to reprimand Mr. Pham Manh Hung, Chief Editor of VOV online newspaper for posting false information, not complying with the production process of news and articles.
