Reporters specialising in art from newspapers, magazines, television networks, broadcast stations and online newspapers voted for the best artists and music works in 2014.

The awards will be given in seven categories of best song, best album, best singer and best composer, as well as new artist, best live music show and best television music show.

The awards have been given annually by the Vietnam News Agency's Culture and Sports daily since 2005, to promote Vietnamese music and honour artists who make significant contributions to the industry.

The awards ceremony will be held on April 6 at the HCM City Opera House. This year, the ceremony will be hosted by veteran MC Diem Quynh, accompanied by performances by the nominees, marking the 10th year of the awards.

Just before the vote took place, the organisers received a withdrawal from the award request by Viet Nam Television's music show entitled Giai Dieu Tu Hao (Melody of Pride).

After discussion, the organisers decide to retain the show among the five nominees in the category of the best television music show.
