Cultural experts have sounded the alarm over the deterioration of a rare and ancient painting.

 Scientists now have enough reference material to accurately restore the Dam Pagoda, a worshiping place of national importance during the Ly Dynasty (1009-1225) after two years of careful research at the site.

"Hanoi currently has 600 relics that are seriously degraded. We need about VND6 trillion ($286 million) to repair the relics and this is a very big amount," said Deputy Director of Hanoi Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
