The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will implement the Program to support research, restoration, preservation and promotion of intangible cultures of ethnic minorities at risk of extinction.

On October 27, 2023, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued Decision No. 3177/QD-BVHTTDL on organizing the Program to Support Research, Restoration, Preservation and Promotion of Intangible Culture of Ethnic Minorities which are at risk of extinction.

The program will support research, restoration, preservation and promotion of the following intangible cultural values: "New rice celebration of the Tay ethnic group in Van Yen district, Yen Bai province"; "The art of Be khen of the Thai ethnic group in Nghia Lo town, Yen Bai province"; "Bell dance and turtle dance of the Dao ethnic group in Yen Lap district, Phu Tho province"; "Du drum dance of the Muong ethnic group in Yen Lap district, Phu Tho province"; "Phu La ethnic village sweeping ceremony" in Tuan Giao district, Dien Bien province; Tho ethnic hammock weaving craft in Quy Hop district, Nghe An province; folk songs, folk dance, folk music of the O Du ethnic group in Tuong Duong district, Nghe An province.

In addition, traditional cultures need to be restored and preserved, such as folk songs, folk dances, folk performing arts, and traditional crafts that are at risk of oblivion of the Tay, Thai, Dao, Muong, Phu La, Tho and O Du ethnic groups in Yen Bai, Phu Tho, Dien Bien and Nghe An provinces.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (MoCST) will implement the program to support research, restoration, preservation and promotion of intangible cultures of ethnic minorities at risk of extinction.

The MoCST's Department of Ethnic Culture will be the agency that coordinates with relevant parties and localities to implement the program to implement the Party's guidelines, policies and laws of the State on preserving and promoting traditional culture of ethnic minorities associated with local tourism development.

This contributes to effectively promoting investment resources of the state, society and community in preserving and promoting the fine traditional cultural values of ethnic minorities in the provinces of Yen Bai, Phu Tho, Dien Bien, and Nghe An.

At the same time, it will strengthen national solidarity, especially among young people, through cultural activities, teaching folk songs, folk dance, traditional vocational training, and cultural rituals imbued with each nation's identity; create conditions for the community to exchange and have healthy entertainment from traditional cultural values...

The program also aims to raise community awareness about preserving and promoting the cultural identity of ethnic minorities, promoting the role of cultural subjects of artisans, village elders, village heads, and reputable people and ethnic minorities.
