VietNamNet Bridge – Overseas Vietnamese, also known as Viet Kieu, will be welcomed back to the capital for Lunar New Year with a special concert, Xuan Que Huong 2011 (Homeland Spring 2011).
The event, the fourth of its kind, will be held in Thang Long Royal Citadel on January 28, five days before the first of Tet.
It has been organised by the Foreign Affairs Ministry's State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese and relevant agencies.
Overseas Vietnamese can register to attend the programme at Vietnamese authority offices close to their places of residence or the committee's office at 32 Ba Trieu Street in Hoan Kiem District, Ha Noi.
Last year, about 1,000 Overseas Vietnamese gathered at the Xuan Que Huong concert in Ha Noi.
President Nguyen Minh Triet addressed the expatriates and praised their contributions to the country's development.
The programme featured traditional activities, including music, calligraphy and an ancestor-worshipping ceremony in the Thang Long Royal Citadel.
At present, there are about four million Vietnamese living, working and studying in more than 100 countries and territories worldwide.
