VietNamNet Bridge – American dancer Cassidy Isaacson will perform with dancer Cao Chi Thanh in a full-length version of Rite of Spring tonight, June 4, at the Ha Noi Opera House.

The ballet is choreographed by Ha Thai Son and Cao Duc Toan with music by Igor Stravinsky.

The couple will present another original piece, Nina Simone Suite: six songs by Nina Simone, accompanied by choreography by Marisa Hayes, an award-winning choreographer and dance filmmaker based in France.

Isaacson is a dancer with the Grand Rapids Ballet under the artistic direction of Patricia Barker. She studied ballet for fourteen years in Washington. She has performed soloist and pas de deux roles in The Nutcracker, Swan Lake and Sleeping Beauty.

Rite of Spring will be performed again on Thursday in a celebration of Italian National Day by artists from the Viet Nam Opera and Ballet Theatre.

The programme, conducted by Graham Sutcliffe, will feature pieces by Italian composers Giuseppe Verdi, Richard Wagner and Pietro Mascagni.
