 VietNamNet Bridge – The capital will collect between VND50,000 (US$2,4) and VND100,000 ($4,8) as annual road maintenance fee from each motorbike user from early next month.

As much as VND300 billion (US$14 million) has been collected in road maintenance fees since the regulation on the fee took effect at the beginning of this year.

Several provinces have reported that they are confused on how to organize the collection of road maintenance fee from motorbikes, even though the Ministry of Transport has said that the fee will officially be collected from January 1, 2013.

VietNamNet Bridge – The Ministry of Transport said that from 0h on January 1, 2012, the state-owned toll will be closed. Instead, people will pay road maintenance fees.
