VietNamNet Bridge - The road fees for electric bicycles and motorcycles of 50-100cm3 are VND50.000-VND100,000 ($2.5-5) per per one vehicle; VND100,000 - VND150,000/ year/vehicle of over 100cm3. The fees will be collected from January 1 2013.

According to the draft guidelines for collecting road fees of the Ministry of Finance, car owners will have to pay "road tax" from VND130,000 to VND1.04 million ($6-50) per month. The fees will be collected once a year, based on the vehicle's registration cycle.
For imported cars for temporary circulation in Vietnam, the charging period is equivalent to the time of circulation in Vietnam. The time for paying the fees is when the entry for circulation in Vietnam is submitted.
For civil automobiles, the fee payer shall pay to the registration agency. For temporarily imported foreign cars for circulation in Vietnam, the fee must be paid to provincial Departments of Transportation.
Local authorities will collect road fees on motorcycles. Motorcycle owners can pay the fees each six months or once a year.
Earlier, in March this year, the Government issued Decree No. 18/2012/ND-CP providing for the establishment, management and use of the road maintenance funds, later known as road using charges.
According to this decree, road fees will be collected from June 1 2012. However, due to economic difficulty, this fee has been suspended.
