The Son Tra Peninsula and Danang Tourism Beaches Management Board on August 16 issued a warning to visitors about the rising cases of thefts targeting tourists at some local beaches and seaside parks.

According to a report from the board, security officers have arrested three men who stole a bag from a local visitor who left it on the beach at Bien Dong Park on July 29.

A teenager was also detained after three robberies targeting tourists on August 12 and 13 in My An Beach.

On August 14, two other men were caught red-handed while pickpocketing a mobile phone from a visitor at Ho Xuan Huong Beach, Ngu Hanh Son District.

"Most of the stolen objects were bags, wallets, watches, and mobile phones," the board said. "All of the suspects have been transferred to the city's police for further investigations. We've intensified security measures to ensure safety for visitors."

The board has also advised local people and tourists to carefully guard their belongings while visiting public beaches and keep valuable items within sight.
