Rock'n Roll show with Little Barrie
The UK-based Little Barrie will hold a concert at Cargo Bar on May 27.
The three-piece band plays music influenced by Garage rock, R&B, surf, soul, funk and rockabilly.
Founded in 1999, the band consists of Barrie Cadogan (vocals, guitar), Lewis Wharton (bass, vocals) and Virgil Howe (drums, vocals).
The concert will start at 7.30pm at 7 Nguyen Tat Thanh Street in District 4.
Tickets priced at VND350,000 are available from www.ticketbox.vn and Asian Kitchen, 185/22 Pham Ngu Lao Street in District 1.
* Manzi hosts improvised music concert
The Third Eye, a concert featuring improvised music by Vietnamese and Malaysian musicians, will be held on Saturday at Manzi Art Space.
Improvised music is the creative act of composing while playing. Like jazz, it is the fusion of emotions, performing skills and instant reaction.
The audience will be able to enjoy traditional and electronic music mixed together on computer, beforehand or improvised by Vietnamese artists Luong Hue Trinh and Thuy Chi and Malaysian musicians Kok Siew-Wai and Yong Yan-sen.
The Third Eye will start at 8pm at 14 Phan Huy Ich Street. Entry fee is VND100,000.
* Paris-based DJ to play in HCM City
Paris-based DJ Joakim Bouaziz will perform at The Observatory tomorrow (May 15) as part of his tour through Asian countries.
Bouaziz is a musician with four albums featuring a mixture of electronic, jazz, and pop music. His debut album was released in 1999. He is also a label founder and manager of Tigersushi records and the recent vinyl-only Crowdspacer.
The artist will be supported by resident DJ Nic Ford.
The show will begin at 10pm at 5 Nguyen Tat Thanh Street in District 4.
