The Vietnamese Government has paid great effort to improve environment improvement capacity and the quality of life for citizens.

This was affirmed by experts at the final workshop on the project “Development and application of the electronic manifest system for the integrated management of hazardous waste in Vietnam” held by the Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and the Vietnam Environment Administration (VEA) in Hanoi On December 26

Participants said that over the past 20 years, Vietnam has obtained a high economic growth rate, resulting in an increasing quantity of industrial waste, which damages the environment and threatens citizens’ safety and health. It is very urgent to have a proper treatment solution.

That’s why the Republic of Korean Government has provided US$2.5 million through KOICA to build an electronic system to manage industrial waste in Vietnam. In this connection Vietnamese experts have been trained in the RoK and Korean experts came to Vietnam to share experience.

At the workshop, KOICA Chief Representative in Vietnam, Chang Jae Yun said the electronic manifest system will help cut down the spending on written documents, and e-data on hazardous waste can be used for environmental research and law-making.
