Market management officers examine seized rotten animal organs.

They were discovered on a coach, with registration number 43B 02156, travelling on National Road 1A, which runs though Mai Son Commune in Ninh Binh Province's Yen Mo District.

The coach driver, Thang Van Binh, 43, who lives in Da Nang City's Hai Chau District, failed to submit legal proof of the organs' origin or their quarantine certificate to the police.

The police also found 32 wild animals, including four pangolins, a trionychid turtle (Tryonyx sterinachderi) and 27 big-headed turtles (Platysternon megacephalun) on the coach.

The suspect was later identified as Nguyen Thi Nam, a resident from the northern Quang Ninh Province.

Nam, 51, told police that a friend had asked her to transport them from Da Nang bus station to Ha Noi.

The incident is being investigated by the police.
