VietNamNet Bridge – Rowing and shooting won five gold medal in the morning to cement Vietnam’s second-placed position on the medal table at the 28th Southeast Asian Games in Singapore with 53 gold medals.

Vietnamese rowers got off a good start in rowing, claiming four gold medals and tour silvers out of seven events the country competed in the morning.
Rower Nguyen Van Linh won the first gold medal with a victory in the men’s 500m lightweight single event, completing the race in 1:33.64 minutes.
Isadi Ardi of Indonesia took silver after needing 1:35.78 to sail the whole distance and the bronze went to Saensuk Jaruwat of Thailand.
Not long later, pair Ta Thanh Huyen and Pham Thi Thao claimed the second rowing gold medal for Vietnam after finishing first in the women’s 500m lightweight double event with a time of 1:33.35.
Myanmar came in second while Indonesia took the third place.
Le Thi An and Pham Thi Hue won the third gold medal in the women’s 500m pair event, finishing in 1:38.87 minutes while the fourth one was won by pair Nguyen Dinh Huy and Dam Van Hieu in the men’s 500m pair event with a time of 1:27.63 minutes.
Vietnam also took silvers in the men’s lightweight double and the men’s lightweight four events.
Shooting also won a gold medal in the morning when shooting star Hoang Xuan Vinh, who scored 190.9 points in the men’s 50m pistol event. Auapinyakul Natphanlert took silver and Wong Johnathan Guanjie of Malaysia got the bronze.
