VietNamNet Bridge – Many roads amid the heart of Hanoi, the capital city, are even sleazier than rural markets.
These "rural markets" appear on many streets in Hanoi, mainly selling
fruit and vegetables, meat and daily food consumption for local
residents. More than half of the length of Luong Yen Street has become a market.
Most of the sellers come from the suburbs and neighboring provinces. These “markets” are illegal. The sellers and the buyers make transactions on the road, obstructing the traffic. They also discharge rubbish on the road.
