VietNamNet Bridge - When two Russian criminals were arrested, they offered bribes of VND1 billion or $50,000 for Vietnamese police to be released to Laos.

Being alerted by the security forces, on the afternoon of July 9, 2013, the Border Guard Station at Lao Bao international border gate discovered two foreigners who have identity characteristics similar to two subjects in the international wanted list. They were arrested and handed over to the police of Quang Tri province.

The two foreigners were then identified as two subjects being hunted by the Russian Federation Police all over the world, including Poliakov Valeriy and Kosenok Alexey.

According to records of the Russian investigating agency, Poliakov Valeriy was born on 04.07.1974 and Kosenok Alexey was born on 06.03.1977 are the two extremely dangerous criminals. Poliakov Valeriy was wanted on charges of illegally using, trading weapons and explosives, participating in organized criminal gangs since 2009 in the town of Novokuznetsk, Kemerovo region, Russia. The arrest warrant against Poliakov Valeriy was issued on 09.07.2012. Kosenok Alexey was charged of using force, causing injury to blackmail and the arrest warrant against him was issued on 09/07/2012.

Lieutenant Colonel Tran Duc Trieu of Quang Tri Provincial Police Agency said that after many hours of interrogation, the two Russian criminals did not say anything until the police showed their criminal records which were transferred from the Russian security agencies.

They offered a bribe of VND1 billion to be released to Laos but Trieu smiled and said that Vietnam law cannot be bought with money, even though they offer VND 100 or even VND1,000 billion.
