Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum

 

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has decided to establish a state-level medical scientific council in charge of the assessment of the embalmed body of late President Ho Chi Minh.

The 11-member council includes seven from Vietnam and four from Russia.

The council will be chaired by Prof. Dr. Dang Vu Minh, chairman of Vietnam Union of Science and Technology. Minh is also the chairman of State-level scientific council for preserving the late President Ho Chi Minh’s the embalmed body during 2018 and 2023.

Other members of the Vietnamese side are Major General. Prof. Dr Do Quyet, director of Vietnam Military Medical Academy; Prof. Dr Ta Van Thanh, headmaster of Hanoi Medical University; Colonel Vu Van Binh, former deputy head of the Late President Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum management board.

The Russian scientists are Prof. Evdokimov A.I, head of Morphology Faculty from Russian National Research Medical University and three others from the Russian presidential office’s hospital and Russian scientific research institutes.

The council will propose research co-operation, and scientific and technical solutions in service of the work.

The council will stop operations after finishing the assigned work scheduled to be conducted in July when Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum will be restored.

After his death on September 2, 1969, the President was embalmed and later placed for viewing at the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum. The mausoleum was built in two years from 1973 to 1975, with materials donated by people from all over the country.
