VietNamNet Bridge - A Russian man was found dead in his hotel room in HCM City early Sunday morning.

Ho Chi Minh City police examined the scene and took the body of the victim, identified as Smirnov Vitalii, 35, to the An Binh Morgue in District 5 for autopsy to clarify the cause of death.

Vitalii and another Russian named Nesterov Oleg, 51, had leased a 3rd floor room at the Sai Gon Star Hotel on Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street, in District 3, since early April.

According to Oleg’s statement, at around 4am, he found Vitalii lying on the bed face down. Discovering the body to be stiff, Oleg informed the hotel staff, who arrived and determined that Vitalii was dead.

Oleg also told the authorities that the previous afternoon, Vitalii had complained of breathing problems, then went to bed at 10pm.

Smirnov Vitalii is an expert of the Bason shipping company, based in District 1.
