Sai Gon FC of V.League 1 have inked a contract with Patrick Cruz of Brazil, who arrived in HCM City on Thursday.

The 23-year-old striker Cruz has played for São Paulo, Corinthians and Flamengo club in Brazil.

Last year, Cruz transfered to Malaysia to join T-Team FC in Malaysia Super League after the Indonesia football association was suspended that year. He scored 10 goals.

Besides Cruz, Sai Gon FC also signed another Brazilian striker, Marcelo Fernandes, who used to play for Wacker Innsbruck of Austria and other Brazilian teams such as São Bernardo, São Caetano and AD Cabofriense.

Recently, Fernandes, 25, scored five goals for Yangon United of Myanmar in the AFC Champions League and AFC Cup 2016.

Sai Gon FC will meet Hai Phong at Lach Tray Stadium in the northern port city of Hai Phong on Sunday.

Quang Ninh signs up midfielder Dung of U19

V.League 1’s Quang Ninh Coal have recruited midfielder Bui Tien Dung of the Viet Nam U19 team.

Dung and five teammates from VPF football centre played for Quang Ninh under a loan contract last year. Following his good performance for Quang Ninh and for the U19 team, which won a ticket to compete in the World Cup U20, Quang Ninh invited him to play for them.

“We knew Dung’s strong and weak points. He is a good player. If he tries his best, he will make fast progress. In this year’s season, Quang Ninh will play many matches, Dung will have chances to show his skills,” said coach Phan Thanh Hung.

Quang Ninh ranked fourth at the national premier league and won the National Super Cup last year.
