In the first leg, Saigon were defeated 68-84.

“I’m not very happy right now but the team played hard, we just dug ourselves a hole and we just couldn’t get out of it,” said Saigon captain David Arnold to aseanbasketballleague.com.

“That’s a good team [Malaysia] and it’s a team you don’t want to get down a bunch to.”

As Saigon bow out of the playoff picture, all eyes will now turn to the Dragons who are returning to the ABL Finals after being runner-ups in last year’s battle against Hi-Tech Bangkok City.
