Passengers leave Phan Thiet train station. The Saigon-Phan Thiet train will be suspended from today to facilitate construction of some auxiliary works.

For the tickets of the Saigon-Phan Thiet service that have been issued, passengers without motorbikes as checked cargo will be transferred to SQN2 train of the Saigon-Quy Nhon route for departure to Binh Thuan Station, then they will be transported from Binh Thuan Station to Phan Thiet Station by bus.

Concerning the opposite route, passengers will move from Binh Thuan Station to Saigon Station by TN1 train.

Saigon Railway Station declined to announce the number of tickets already issued for the service. However, the number of passengers affected is high because now is the peak summer vacation, and many tourists choose to travel by train to save on time compared to bus service, some ticket agents said.

Before announcing this stoppage, tickets for the train on this route are always sold out, especially on weekends.

According to the daily schedule, trains of Saigon-Phan Thiet route depart at 6:50 a.m. for the way from Saigon Station and at 1:10 p.m. for the opposite direction. The traveling time is four hours by train, compared to six hours by bus.
