A concert featuring pieces of classical music by the Saigon Philharmonic Orchestra will take place at Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music on February 24. 

The music show will be performed by artists of the Saigon Philharmonic Orchestra, including singer Tran Thanh Ha, Singaporean violinist Yew Shan under the baton of conductor Adrian Tan.

Adrian Tan, director of the Saigon Philharmonic Orchestra, graduated at Singapore National University and earned an MBA at Sydney Conservatory of Music. 

He is now music director of Singapore Flute Orchestra and Braddell Heights Symphony Orchestra.

Violinist Shan Yew has studied at several world-famous music institutes such as the Koninklijk Conservatorium in Belgium, Yale University in the United States and the Sydney Conservatorium of Music in Australia. 

He has also been invited to be concertmaster of many orchestras, and has frequently performed as soloist and chamber musician in many concerts worldwide.

The Saigon Philharmonic under the Ho Chi Minh Conservatory of Music was established in 2010, making its debut at the 17th ASEAN Summit under the baton of renowned Japanese maestro Yoshikazu Fukumura.

The orchestra comprised local musicians of the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music, National Music Institute and Hue Music Institute, and musicians from the region including Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Laos and Cambodia.
