The Saigon Philharmonic Orchestra will stage a concert on April 13 at the HCMC Conservatory of Music in HCMC’s District 1.

Maestro Apo Hsu conducts the Saigon Philharmonic Orchestra in HCMC last year 


The concert will be under the baton of Meritorious Artist Tran Vuong Thach, director of the HCMC Ballet Symphony Orchestra and Opera (HBSO).

The audience will have the opportunity to listen to masterpieces by Johannes Strauss, Gioachino Rossini, Carl Maria von Weber, George Bizet, and Luwig Van Beethoven, which will be performed by soprano Vo Thuy Ngoc Tuyen, mezzo soprano Huynh Ha Thu Thao and clarinet artist Nguyen Tuan Loc.

Born in 2010, the Saigon Philharmonic Orchestra is the resident orchestra of the HCMC Conservatory of Music, comprising of local musicians from the conservatory and the National Academy of Music and Hue Music Institute, and 16 musicians from regional nations such as Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Laos and Cambodia.

The orchestra held a Spring symphony concert on February 24, featuring violin soloist Yew Shan and conductor Adrian Tan.

The forthcoming concert will take place at the Concert Hall of the HCMC Conservatory of Music at 112 Nguyen Du Street, District 1. 

VIP and standard tickets are priced at VND300,000 and VND200,000 respectively while students enjoy a special price of VND100,000.
