The Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien route of nearly 20 km long passes the Districts of 1, 2, 9, Binh Thanh, Thu Duc in HCM City and Di An district of Binh Duong Province.
Long Binh subway station in District 9, covering an area of over 27 hectares. Leveling and building of fences began in 2010. At present, concrete girdles are being used to build 12km of viaduct.
After two and a half years of preparation, from April 2015, contractors made the first beams for the overpass route and the station. This is the U-beam, designed and manufactured by the French contractor Systra.
After nearly 5 months, over 700 out of a total of 4,500 beams have been made.

In Suoi Tien area, workers are pouring the first concrete pillars of the ground floor of the station. The entire route has 14 stations, including 11 elevated and 3 underground stations.
The construction of pillars of the elevated rail does not affect traffic on the road.
12 km of viaduct is being built in Thao Dien Ward (District 2), Truong Tho and Linh Trung ward (Thu Duc).
The most modern technology is being applied to build the subway.
The densely populated areas and modern buildings are also under construction around the subway stations.

Below a depth of about 4 m the City Theatre station and Ben Thanh Market, groups of workers, engineers undertake different tasks.
The Ben Thanh - Suoi Tien metro is attracting the interest of HCM City people. Along with Thu Thiem Tunnel, East-West Highway, and Phu My Bridge, this is one of the most important transport projects in HCMC in recent years.
Of the 5 main bidding packs, three are being implemented. The project is expected to be put into trial operation in 2019 and official operation in 2020.
