The clip, titled “Hang Xanh traffic police officers calmly scan the purse of drivers,” immediately captured public attention. The four policemen in the clip were then defined as members of a patrol group of the Hang Xanh traffic police team.

Head of HCM City’s Road and Railway Traffic Police Department - Lieutenant Colonel Tran Thanh Tra asked this group to report on the incident.

According to the group’s report, on the morning of March 4, they made a patrol on some roads from 6am to 10am. From 6.20am to 8am, they stopped to set up a commanding position at the Road 17-Pham Van Dong intersection.

At the same time, Lieutenant Colonel Tran Van Thuong, Head of the Hang Xanh traffic police team who was also on a patrol detected that the team stopped a lot of vehicles at the same time. Thuong asked these traffic police officers to return to the office.

At the office, the four police officers admitted that they broke the rules in dealing with traffic violations, such as not saying hello to the violator, not having the names on their uniform, dealing with at least three violators at the same time, staying at one place for over 15 minutes...

However, the policemen did not admit to scan the purse of violators.

To clarify the situation, HCM City traffic police agency asked for the media to provide the above clip as evidence.
