As decided by HCM City leaders at a meeting on November 10, the 2016 Flower Street Festival will return to Nguyen Hue Road, running from the Ho Chi Minh Square to Ton Duc Thang intersection.

With the theme "HCM City - Peace, Integration and Development", Nguyen Hue Flower Street will open a day earlier than before, from 27th of December until the 5th of January (lunar calendar), totaling eight days compared to seven days in previous years.

As part of a series of events for the New Year 2016, the book road will be held on the streets of Ngo Duc Ke, Dong Khoi and Mac Thi Buoi, which will be also connected to the flower street.

In addition, more than 10 roads will be decorated with lights (from the New Year until the Lunar New Year).

Nguyen Hue Flower Street was first held in 2004. It has become the unique feature of HCM City at Tet.

Each year, the flower road is arranged under a different topic, attracting millions of local people and tourists. Last year the flower street was moved to Ham Nghi as Nguyen Hue Road was being rebuilt into a pedestrian street.
