Sapa, in the northern mountainous province of Lao Cai, has been included in a new list of the top 50 most beautiful places on the planet by travel site PureWow.

According to PureWow, Seljalandsfoss in Iceland, one of the most famous waterfalls in Iceland’s south region tops the list, followed by the Torres del Paine National Park in Chile, Li River in China, the fishing village of Manarola in Italy, and Sapa in Vietnam.

Sapa, located some 2,000km further north, is known for its trekking trails. The colourful town is recognised as the perfect oasis for travellers on strenuous mountain treks and rice paddy tours.

Tourists can visit the Saturday night “love market”, the Gothic stone church in the town centre and a variety of Vietnamese and European restaurants.

Sapa has become increasingly attractive to visitors in recent years, making it important for those who love the pristine beauty of the town to find a place where they can breathe in the fresh air, dive into the green jungle, gaze over the vast paddy fields and experience the ethnic culture.
