People in HCM City wear face masks in public as the coronavirus continues to pose a threat.

A number of information and communication technologies (ICT) firms have already taken measures to help their staff and customers.

Firms such as VNG, Sapo and Sen Đỏ are allowing their employees to work from home and also providing them with anti-virus solutions.

Sen Đỏ has instructed employees who have visited Wuhan or held meetings with people coming from the Chinese city since January 15 to apprise its human resources division and work from home for at least 14 days from that date.

Ride-hailing firm Grab has decided to suspend all employees’ business trips to China. Employees returning after a visit to China have been told to stay at home for at least 14 days and to get medical clearance before resuming work at office.

Video games company VNG has also told staff returning from Coronavirus-affected areas such as China, Đà Nẵng and Nha Trang to work at home for two weeks before returning to office.

Trần Viết Quân, director of HCM City-based company GMA, said employees are allowed to work from home to minimize the risk of contracting or spreading the Coronavirus.

Other IT firms such as Viettel, VinaPhone, MobiFone, and FPTShop require employees to wear face masks while interacting with customers, and are providing the masks.—VNS
