“Mon âme par toi guérie” (2013, 124’) will come on May 12. The movie is about Frédi, who has the gift of healing hands, transmitted to him by his mother.

He wants nothing to do with this ‘gift,’, but when his mother dies, he’s obliged to make use of it. Although he wonders where this ability came from, he can do nothing but accept it.

The animation movie, “MUNE: Guardian of the Moon” (Director Alexandre Heboyan & Benoît Philippon, 86 mins), will screen May 14th.

“This beautiful tale by Benoît Philippon and Alexandre Heboyan – who collaborated on Kung-Fu Panda – is a dreamily genuine success. The animation is as cute as it is poetic and intelligent,” commented Cineman.

The second movie - “Ma maman est en Amérique” (France, 2013, 75’) will be screened on May 21.

Directed by Marc Boreal and Thibaut Chatel, this is the story of a 6-year-oldwho is desperate for motherhood and legendary adventures around the world.

A small provincial town in the 1970s. Jean is six years old and has just started going to school. When the teacher asks each child to talk about his or her father’s and mother’s work, Jean, realizing that he is not like the other kids, gets worried and invents an answer: “My mom, she’s a secretary.”

In fact, his mom is always away on trips and she sends postcards to Michèle, the little next-door neighbor who already knows how to read and who hence reads them to Jean, which sets him dreaming.

Unless reality is something else entirely, which is what Jean slowly begins to understand in the months between September and Christmas…

On May 19 and 21 another French movie “Human” (Director Yann Arthus-Bertrand, 2015, 143′) will be screened.

“Human” is a collection of stories and images of the world, offering an immersion to the core of what it means to be human. Through these stories full of love and happiness, as well as hatred and violence, “Human” brings the audience face to face with the Other, making them reflect on their lives.

From stories of everyday experiences to accounts of the most unbelievable lives, these poignant encounters share a rare sincerity and underline who we are – our darker side, but also what is most noble in us, and what is universal.

The Earth is shown at its most sublime through never-before-seen aerial images accompanied by soaring music, resulting in an ode to the beauty of the world, providing a moment to draw breath and for introspection.

“Human” is a politically engaged work which allows the audience to embrace the human condition and to reflect on the meaning of our existence.
