VietNamNet Bridge – The Vietnamese U23 team did not score any goal in their second match against Myanmar on November 6, although it played with one more player than their opponents.

Both teams have many opportunities for making scores in the first 30 minutes, then Vietnam started attacking and dominated the match while Myanmar was hard put to defend and try to secure a point.

Fourteen minutes into the second session, Vietnamese striker Van Quyet dribbled the ball to pierce through Myanmar’s defensive line to confront goalie Thiha Si Thu. Center defender Moe Win had to tackle Quyet to save the goal frame and received a red card.

From the moment, Myanmar even lowered their formation to resist relentless attacks from Vietnam. Yet, Myanmar launched dangerous counter attacks towards Vietnam, once hitting the ball against the crossbar of the frame of Vietnamese keeper Buu Ngoc.

Defender Quang Anh managed to get the ball into the Myanmar goal after receiving Captain Thanh Luong’s right corner kick in the 38th minute, but it did not count as he was ruled offside and the game ended in a 0-0 draw.

With four points after two matches, Vietnam and Myanmar share first place in Group B, followed by East Timor with three points, thanks to their win against Brunei.

Vietnam will next take on Timor Leste on November9 (7:00pm), Brunei on November 12 (4:00pm) and Laos on November 17 (4:00pm).
