VietNamNet Bridge – Following the huge success of the first season, the game show Thu thach cung buoc nhay, will launch its second run with qualifying rounds starting from next month.

The Vietnamese version of the world-acclaimed So you think you can dance will hold qualifying in Can Tho on June 13, Haiphong on June 19, Hanoi on June 21 and 22, Danang on June 27, HCMC on July 3 and 4 and Nha Trang on July 1. Leading choreographers John Huy Tran, Tuyet Minh, Viet Thanh, Quynh Lan, Khanh Thi and Chi Anh will select the top 100 to progress to the semifinal round. Contestants have to express their dancing talents in solo, hiphop, jazz, dancesport, group dance and contemporary dance to decide the 20 finalists for the gala round. The award gala is scheduled to take place on November 30.

The contest is for both amateur and professional dancers aged from 16 to 30. Top 20 finalists of the first season are not allowed to join this year’s contest. The total value of awards this year is a cool VND1 billion.

Last year, Lam Vinh Hai won first prize and has become one of the most popular dancers in Vietnam.

MCs will be Tran Thanh and singer Khoi My. Each episode will be rocked along by performances of dancers from the U.S. version of the show and will be beamed on HTV7, VTCV1, YanTV, CVTV1, DRT, HN1&2 and Giai Tri TV.

‘So you think you can dance’ is a Fox hit reality show created by Simon Fuller in 2005. It has been held for nine seasons in the U.S. and has won seven Emmy awards. The show has been produced in 24 nations.
