Second seed in the men’s singles Nguyen Duc Tien from Hanoi had a tough match against Le Quoc Khanh, but came through 6-4, 7-6 (3) after two hours.

In the women’s singles, Alize Lim thrashed Nguyen Phan Yen Tich 6-0, 6-1.

In other matches, Alexander Truong Giang Thanh from Ho Chi Minh City defeat Le Cong Tien from Hai Dang Tay Ninh 6-4, 6-2, while Tat Thai Nguyen beat Vu Thai Nam from Hanoi 6-4, 7-5. Tiffany Linh Nguyen from Becamex Binh Duong beat Nguyen Thi Mai Huong from Hai Duong 6-1, 6-2, and Fodor Csilla from Da Nang beat Phan Diem Quynh at 6-0 6-0.

Previously, in the matches held on late Monday night, first seed Hoang Thanh Trung made fast work of Truong Vinh Hien from Hung Thinh 6-1, 6-2.

In the women’s singles, U16 defending champion Nguyen Phan Yen Tich beat Dang Thi Hanh from Hai Duong to advance.

All matches will be off today and tomorrow.
