In the men’s singles U16, Tran Tien Thinh from HCM City team lost to Le Ngoc Bao from Da Nang 5-7 after 2 sets.  

In the men’s singles U14, second seed Cao Ngoc Lam from Hanoi beat first seed Truong Vinh Hien from HCM City 9-4.

In the women’s singles U16, first seed Nguyen Phan Yen Tich from HCM City had a smooth start as her opponent Phan Diem Quynh from Becamex Binh Duong quit in the second set after being beaten 6-3, 3-2. Meanwhile, second seed Nguyen Thi Phuong from Hanoi wasted no time in besting team mate Pham Thi Bien Thuy 6-0, 6-1.

In the women’s singles U12, Huynh Tran Ngoc Nhi from HCM City led Dao Uyen My from Becamex Binh Duong 4-1, 4-0.

Matches continue at 8am today (August 1) at Ninh Binh Province Gymnasium.
