“Anywhere I live, I’m still Che Linh, a Cham man and my hometown is Vietnam,” he said.
Che Linh has had appeared thousands of times on stage but “Che Linh, 30 Years of Return” live show is very meaningful for him. At the age of 69, his voice is still sweet.
In the upcoming live show, he will perform his hits and sing as duo with senior overseas Vietnamese singers, like Son Tuyen, Huong Lan, Tuan Ngoc. He will also sing on the audience’s demand.
To prepare for the show, Che Linh has returned to Vietnam in September, with a band and a dancing troupe. The live show will be host by Nguyen Cao Ky Duyen – a famous Vietnamese American MC and songwriter Duc Huy.
After the show in Hanoi, Che Linh will see Da Nang’s audience on October 29, at the Trung Vuong Theater, Hai Phong’s audience on November 5, at the Vietnam-Czech Culture Palace and HCM City’s audience at the Hoa Binh Theater on November 19.
Che Linh, a Cham origin, was born in 1942 in Ninh Thuan province. His real name is Cha Len. He is a singer with stage name Che Linh and a song writer with stage name Tu Nhi.
Che Linh left Ninh Thuan to Saigon in 1959 and became a famous singer with the bolero musical style. He left Vietnam to Canada in 1980.
Che Linh has married four times and has 14 children.
