VietNamNet Bridge – A serious car accident occurred earlier Friday on the Ho Chi Minh Road section running through Rach Tho Village in the southern province of Ca Mau, killing one and injuring 11 others.

A seven-seat car was travelling from Dat Mui Commune to Ca Mau City and hit a sixteen seat van running from the opposite direction when it tried to avoid a steamroller parked on the side of the road.

There were five people in the seven-seat car, driven by Truong Hai Nho, 43, and seven others in the van, which was driven by Nguyen Van Tri, 36.

All the passengers were trapped in the two cars after the crash and later taken to the hospital. Driver Nguyen Van Tri died on the way, while 11 other are all seriously injured.

Another accident happened Thursday in the central province of Quang Nam, killing one and injuring two others.

The two passenger cars, one 24-seater and one sleeper van, collided on the 14B National Highway at Dai Dong Commune, Dai Loc District.

Luong Quy Vinh, 27, driver of the 24-seater car died on the spot. Two other people in his van were seriously injured.
