VietNamNet Bridge – Seven mall taxi companies which do not have instruction center in Hanoi and HCM City have been suspended after the Ministry of Transport’s one-month inspection.

The Ministry’s chief inspector Nguyen Xuan Hao told the press on December 6, that after two days inspecting the operation of taxi firms in HCM City, transport inspectors suspended one taxi firm, the Travel and Transport Cooperative No. 2. This company’s license has been also revoked.

Hao said that this company did not have an operation center to manage drivers and violated other regulations.

In the coming time, inspectors will continue checking the operation of seven taxi firms in HCM City, including Taxi Vietnam Company, Vinasun, Saigon Hoang Long, Phuong Trang, Minh Duc, Saigon Gas and Duc Linh.

Hao confirmed to seriously punish taxi companies that break the rules. “Any taxi company that does not meet standards will be closed,” Hao emphasized.

Before going to HCM City, the Ministry of Transport’s inspectors completed checking 12 taxi companies in Hanoi. Six of them, including Mua Xuan, Le Gia, Phu Gia, Hong Hung, Taxi 14 and BG were suspended. These firms did not have operation centers and some had only 4-5 cars.

Hanoi currently has 108 taxi firms, with over 16,000 cars while HCM City has only 35 firms but the total number of cars is higher than Hanoi’s.
