According to initial information, at around 7pm the SE3 train was traveling through the Van Dien - Thuong Tin section, passing Yen Phu village in Ngoc Hoi commune, when it collided with a truck bearing license plate 29H-792.XX as the vehicle attempted to cross the railway.

The truck driver, identified as Nguyen Van T., born in 1974 and residing in Me Linh commune, Hanoi, died at the scene.

Another injured person, Do Nhu H., born in 1985 and living in Ngoc Hoi commune, Hanoi, was taken to the Agricultural Hospital for emergency treatment.

At the scene, the truck was crushed and thrown more than 100 meters from the point of impact. The front of train SE3 sustained heavy damage, and sections of the railway guardrail were knocked down.

Upon receiving the report, traffic police, fire prevention and rescue forces, and Ngoc Hoi commune police rushed to the scene to conduct rescue operations.

Authorities deployed a crane, cutting equipment and specialized rescue vehicles to handle the aftermath. Debris was scattered across the roadway and railway area, with guardrails damaged along the track.

The collision occurred at a level crossing equipped with warning signals and automatic barriers.

By approximately 9:45pm, functional forces had recovered the truck driver’s body, which had been trapped inside the cabin, and removed the damaged truck from the railway tracks.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the cause of the accident.
