The boat was tugged to the port by a rescue ship.

Earlier on Tuesday, the Viet Nam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Centre of Region IV (also called Nhatrang MRCC) had received distress signals from the fishing boat, coded QNa91207-TS and captained by 36-year-old Tran Cong Thai, a native of Quang Nam Province.

The boat's crew was reportedly fishing 122 nautical miles northeast off Nha Trang City (in Khanh Hoa Province) when its engine broke down. The crew could not fix the problem and the boat went adrift for several days.

The boat was found to be in good shape after it was tugged ashore. All crew members have recovered and are in good health.
