VietNamNet Bridge – Vietnamese marksman Hoang Xuan Vinh triumphed in the 5th Asian Air Gun Championship, hosted by China’s Nanchang on December 16.

He earned 583 points in standard shooting, 1 point less than his score at the national championship.

In the final round, his ten shots secured 100.3 points. Hoang Xuan Vinh’s winning total was 686.3, 3.1 points more than second placed Chinese rival Mai Jiajie.

The bronze medal went to Shi Xinglong, also from China.

Vietnamese shooter Tran Quoc Cuong, with 679.9 points, finished fourth in the same event.

The result is expected to help Vinh improve his Asian ranking. He recently advanced to sixth in the rankings through his good performance at the 2012 Olympic Games.
