Hieu said: “In fact, we have reduced the pandemic prevention level. In many localities, the pandemic is considered as having stopped. The proof is that the proportion of people wearing protective masks, doing Covid-19 tests, and the number of treatment facilities has decreased.”

“We can see that no one in the National Assembly Hall is wearing protective masks. Meanwhile, under the pandemic prevention and control regulations, people have to wear masks,” he added.

The deputy pointed out that the government needs to declare the transition of the anti-pandemic period with specific regulations in order to ease the waste of resources as well as get ready in case the pandemic breaks out again or other epidemics appear.

As medicine and materials have expiry dates, it is necessary to make decisions about the use of materials for the treatment of other diseases.

Meanwhile, modern equipment purchased to serve pandemic fighting such as ventilators, ECMO, dialysis and mobile X-ray machines need to be distributed for proper use, to avoid abundance in some places and deficiency in others.

Earlier, I wrote an article asking to remove the requirement on compulsory wearing of protective masks to create favorable conditions for people to live and work.

This also aims at ensuring the strictness of the laws. If we maintain the regulation on compulsory wearing of protective masks, but people ignore the regulation, the enforcement is too weak.

Most recently, Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung reported at the October Government meeting that Vietnam ranks second in the world in terms of post-pandemic recovery in accordance with Nikkei’s August ranking.

It ranks seventh in terms of the number of booster dose rates, and fifth in terms of the average number of vaccine doses revived by citizens.

This is the most spectacular rise in Nikkei’s ranking.

Let's consider the viewpoint of Luong Hoai Nam, a well-known businessman. He said four members of his family are infected with Covid-19, but he supports the idea of National Assembly Deputy Hieu of declaring the end of the pandemic in Vietnam and the return of the country to normal.

With 3-4 doses of vaccine for every person, if being infected with Covid-19, infected cases will be mild, just equal to normal influenzas.

At Changi Airport of Singapore, wearing face masks is not required now, though Singapore has a Covid-19 outbreak.

The responsibility for prevention and treatment of Covid-19 has been given to people. The health sector will have time to focus on other diseases with higher risks than Covid-19.
