Once Apple’s flagship phone launched in 2019, the iPhone 11 Pro Max now has a price that surprises many.

Brand-new, unactivated units are scarce, mostly leftover stock, priced from VND10 million to VND13 million. Meanwhile, used but well-maintained units with high battery health are typically listed between VND8 million and VND10 million.

On the market, used units in good condition with battery health above 80 to 85 percent average from VND6.5 million to VND8.5 million.

Additionally, carrier-locked models, or “locked” phones, are significantly cheaper, ranging from VND5 million to VND7 million, but they carry risks, particularly with updates and connection stability.

The drastic price drop of the iPhone 11 Pro Max is due to its technological obsolescence. Five years after its debut, Apple has introduced five new iPhone generations, from iPhone 12 to iPhone 17, with superior advancements in processors, cameras, batteries, and 5G connectivity.

Compared to current iPhone models, the iPhone 11 Pro Max, while still powerful, no longer holds a technological edge.

Moreover, Apple ceased production of the iPhone 11 Pro Max long ago, leaving almost no new, unactivated units; most available products are now used.

With a budget of VND7-9 million, users can consider other options offering a more modern and durable experience.

Notably, a used iPhone 12, with its squared-off design, 5G support, and more powerful A14 Bionic chip compared to the iPhone 11 Pro Max’s A13, offers better performance and longer software support, ensuring peace of mind for years of use.

For those who have a bigger budget, used iPhone 13 or iPhone 14 standard models are viable options. The iPhone 13 (128 GB) currently ranges from VND8.9 million to VND10.3 million. Meanwhile, a used iPhone 14 (128 GB) in 99 percent condition is priced around VND9.9 million, and the 256 GB version in similar condition costs about VND11 million to VND11.99 million.

These models deliver superior performance, impressive camera capabilities, and guaranteed long-term iOS update support.

Alternatively, new Android phones in the same price range are a compelling choice. For VND7 million to VND9 million, users can get a brand-new Android smartphone, free from concerns about aging batteries or components. Many models in this segment feature 120Hz refresh rate display, fast charging, and strong performance thanks to modern chipsets, making them ideal for those prioritizing modernity, convenience, and advanced features.

Buying a used iPhone can save significant money but comes with risks. To avoid “losing money and gaining trouble,” buyers should carefully check the device’s technical condition and origin before deciding to purchase.
