VietNamNet Bridge – Well-known singer Le Quyen, 34, and his husband will have to pay VND4 million (nearly $200) fine each to allow their son to urinate in a sick bag on a flight of the national carrier Vietnam Airlines on July 16, according to a decision of the inspectorate of the Civil Aviation Administration of Vietnam (CAAV).

The photo of Le Quyen on the flight was taken by a passenger.

Although the face was hidden many people quickly realized that it was the singer in the photo.

According to the CAAV, on the flight VN 240 from Saigon to Hanoi on July 16, when the plane was reducing altitude for landing at the Noi Bai Airport, the stewardess informed passengers of activities for safety, including the limitations on the use of the restrooms.

However, singer Le Quyen and her husband allowed their 4-year-old son to urinate into a sick bag, causing a 'splatter' of urine to hit the interior.

As reported by the chief flight attendant, when she was checking the cabin to prepare for the landing, when the plane was close to 10,000 feet of altitude, she saw Le Quyen and her husband allowing their son to stand on his chair and urinate in a sick bag. She asked the couple why they allowed it but did not answer and just looked down.

“As the plane was almost at the time for landing and the incident did not threaten flight safety, I did not take minutes and only reported the case after the flight," the chief flight attendant said.

However, the act was captured by a passenger who posted the photo on Facebook. Although the face of Le Quyen was hidden many people quickly realized that it was the singer in the photo.

The person who uploaded the photo wrote: 'One beautiful female passenger in Seat 11B, with 10 fingernails painted in 10 colors, dressed very fashionably, tore open a vomit bag for her son to pee in, splashing everywhere. The chief steward asked her why she did not go to the lavatory. The passenger didn't even want to look or acknowledge the chief steward.'

The photo was quickly shared on Facebook and the allegations drew condemnation from social media users.

After the post went viral in Vietnam, internet users called for the singer to be exposed.

In an interview with VNE on July 29, Le Quyen said,  "I was really tired on that flight to Hanoi after a long flight from the US the previous day.

"When the flight was about to land at Hanoi's Noi Bai International Airport, my little son suddenly woke up and said he needed to urinate," she said.

There was outrage on social media about the incident, which was posted on Facebook by another passenger.

"I thought I had no time to take him to the lavatory so I took a sick bag," Quyen said.

"The chief stewardess arrived and loudly reminded us about their regulations and this attracted attention from some other passengers."

Quyen said any mother in her situation would have done the same thing.

"The difference is that I am a public figure, so I am expected to behave correctly, which is a great pressure," she said.
