Young and talented singer Minh Hang will represent Vietnam to vie for the "Best Southeast Asia Act" at the MTV European Music Awards 2018 (MTV EMA), scheduled to take place at Barakaldom, Spain, on November 4.

According to an annoucement from MTV Vietnam on October 4,Hang will compete with her rivals from Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, and Malaysia.
The winner will be the one who receives the most votes from fans.
MTV Vietnam hailed Hang’s contribution to the country’s music industry with high quality music products that create a huge spread in the community.
Hang said she is very surprised and proud as she has chance to represent the country at a foreign music competition.
The young singer expressed her hope of introducing Vietnam’s contemporary music to international audience through the event.
Born in 1987 in Ho Chi Minh City, Hang was a member of several music bands, including Pha Le, Tiamo, and J8687.
In 2008, she released her solo album Mot vong trai dat (Across the Earth), which was a hit with Vietnamese fans.
Established in 1994, MTV EMA is an event of MTV to be held alternately in European countries every year. Derived from a prize awarded to outstanding artists in Europe, MTV EMA has been considered a major music prize in the world, which is presented to the artists who have dedicated themselves to the world of music production.
The EMA has awarded the “Best Southeast Asia Act” as a separate category since 2010.
My Tam, Son Tung M-TP, and Dong Nhi were three Vietnamese singers that won the category in 2013, 2015, and 2016, respectively.
