VietNamNet Bridge – The Friendly Muay Thai tournament between Vietnam and Thailand will take place on the evening of September 16 at the Nguyen Du Sports House in HCM City. This will be the race of the top kickboxers of the two countries.

On that night, there will be six games of male kickboxers of 51kg, 54 kg, 57kg, 60kg, 63.5 kg, and 67 kg.
Other activities will include performances of Wai Kru Muay Thai, Thai martial arts, Thai massage and Thai decorations, etc.
Ms. Panpimon Suwannapongse, the Thai Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City, said that Thailand will send its six strongest semi-professional boxers to Vietnam to compete with Vietnamese fighters.
The six Vietnamese kickboxers who are selected for the event are members of the national kickboxing team, who won many prizes on the international arena, such as: the current semi-professional world champion Nguyen Tran Duy Nhat (60 kg, world gold medals 2011, 2012), world silver 2012 winner Vo Van Dai (63 kg), Asian gold medal 2012 winner Truong Quoc Hung (67 kg).
Deputy Director of the HCM City Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Mai Ba Hung said that the tournament is not only a chance for fans to enjoy good Muay Thai matches, but also a chance for Vietnamese boxers to test themselves in preparation for the Southeast Asian Games 2012 in Myanmar and the Asian indoor sports games and martial arts in South Korea in 2013.
The tournament is jointly organized by the Royal Thai Consulate General, the HCM City Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Nguyen Du Sports Club (District 1). The event will start at 6pm on September 16. Tickets is sold at VND40,000 ($2).
