On duty with Shu Qi (Vietnam), 16:30 (Vietnam), Iva (Cambodia), Dawn (the U.S.), Oasis (the Philippines) and Breathe (Malaysia) have earned rave reviews due to their youthful perspectives on cultural and social issues from various parts of Southeast Asia, whilst enjoying a diversity in style and genre of the seventh art, covering a wide range of emotions.

The event will be held from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. on April 11 at the Collingwood Cinema, located at 3215 Kingsway Avenue, Vancouver. After the screening, there will be an interactive session with Marcus Manh Cuong Vu, Festival Director, who is in North America to promote YxineFF at selected events.

He said: “With diversified themes and views, I hope that the audience will have a chance to experience and join the journey with young filmmakers from Southeast Asia. Watching short-films is an interesting way to immerse yourself into a different culture and be updated on life around the world.”

This is the second event of YxineFF’s screening world tour “Best of YxineFF”. Tickets can be purchased online at http://www.SouthEastAsianFilms.Eventbrite.ca/ or at the door on the screening day. Profits from the event will be used to maintain the cinema events of SEACHS in the future and contribute to the Humanitarian Services for Children of Vietnam (HSCV).
