The annual programme, called “Vui hội trăng rằm” (Happy with Full-Moon Festival), is supported by the districts’ labour federations and will be held at the Labour Culture Palace tomorrow.

The children will also enjoy food, play games, and take photos while waiting for the full moon.

Similar programmes are taking places today at the HCM City University of Physical Education and Sports at 639 Nguyen Trai Street, District 5.

The event, held this year for the first time, will feature performances by disabled children from special schools around the city.

Several more such programmes are planned for children to welcome the festival.

“Trung thu yêu thương” (Mid-Autumn Festival of Love) will be held at the Vam Sat Ecological Tourist Center in Can Gio District with support from volunteers on October 1.

It seeks to help 100 disadvantaged children in the district’s Ly Nhon Commune enjoy the celebrations.

It will feature artiste Hanh Thuy, singer Nguyen Phi Hung, child singer Bao Ngu and performers from the SIDO Art Training Centre.

On September 30 and October 1, Dam Sen Cultural Park will organise a series of events for children and their parents to have fun and amuse themselves during the festival.

It will include singing, dancing, including lion dancing, and acrobatics.

There will be a parade with more than 100 dancers.

Children less than 1.4m in height and with lanterns will be allowed free entry.

Suoi Tin Tourist Park in District 9 will also allow children under 1.4m free entry.

At the Lan Anh Theatre, the Phuong Nam Arts Theatre will put on a show featuring circus animals and lion dances.
